The problem you will find is for low cost, you wont get a card that will run black ops or crysis 2 at a reasonable frame rate and detail…… you need to be looking at around $100(minimum) pakka cost effective to get a decent enough card that will run these games at good detail and resolution.
and if your pc’s specs are pretty impressive it would be a waste to buy a low end card and run it with a good cpu and 2gb of ram
so which card should you buy…. well for around $100 i recommend the following :
1) MSI R6670-MD1GD5 Radeon HD 6670 Video Card : This is a decent card that supports the latest gddr5 memory and this cards memory runs at 4000mhz effective… and with a 800mhz core clock and 800 stream processors this will run any of the latest games pretty well…… theres a excellent dual fan cooler than will keep the 40nm gpu(graphics processing unit ) cool under load… and theres also direct x 11 support and pixel and shader model 5.0 compliance ….. a good card …..8.5 out of 10
2) XFX HD-575X-ZMF3 Radeon HD 5750 Video Card : This is actually more powerful than the above card… and it looks like its on sale to be sold for just $84
in terms of performance this will run games like black ops and crysis 2 very well…. and with a 700mhz core clock and 1gb of gddr5 memory clocked at 4600mhz effective this will make light work of todays games
however bare in mind this card requires a 6pin pci-express power connector so make sure your power supply has one of these… or two spare molex connectors ( to use with the 6pin adapter ) ……. 9 out of 10
3) Zotac ZT-40502-10L GeForce GTS 450 AMP Edition Video Card : This is one of the best sub £100 cards and the best nvidia has to offer at this price point…and this has some excellent specifications including a 875mhz core clock and 1gb of gddr5 memory running at 4000mhz ddr effective… theres also a 1750mhz shader clock and 192 stream processors.. however dont get nvidia stream processors confused with ati,s stream processors… they are calculated differently and should not be compared…. generally you get 3 ati stream processors to 1 nvidia stream processor…………. 9 out of 10
4) Galaxy 55NGH8HX4NXK GeForce GTX 550 Ti Video Card : Ive left the best until last… this card is amazing, pure and simple… this will eat up the latest games and run them maxed out….no problems
specs include a massive 900mhz core clock and 1gb of gddr5 memory clocked at 4300mhz ddr effective… and with a 1800mhz shader clock and 192 stream processors this is the card i would go for… well at least for gaming…
10 out of 10 !
all of these card need a 450w or better power supply ( with 25A or more on the +12v rails ) … however the 1st card ( HD5670) will run with a 400w psu…. but the rest will need the stated psu with the GTX550ti needing a 500w psu to work well…. it will run with a 450w psu but you wouldnt be able to add any other hardware….
so there you have it… i hope this has helped you, any questions let me know
good luck !
